Industries became involved in the molding of Blood Vial Stoppers in the mid 1990’s.
Franklynn supplied an environmentally compatible, waterbased mold release agent
called DiamondKote W-71 for the release of bromo and chloro butyl blood stoppers.
At that time, majority of molders utilized a solvent based release agent which utilized
a Class 1 ozone depleting material. The substitution of DiamondKote W-71 allowed
the molder to avoid labeling all packages with a “Manufactured with and Ozone Depleting
Material” label on them.
Franklynn later formulated DiamondKote W-3224. This new product allowed customers
to remove bromo and chloro butyl blood vial stoppers from the mold in complete sheets
(flash and web of stoppers all in one piece) versus picking parts out one at a time
separate from the flash. This brought significant advantages such as increasing
productivity, cutting down production as well as lead times.
Customers in the pharmaceutical field have been using our mold release agents for
more than a decade now and have always enjoyed the cost savings that DiamondKote
brings to every plant.
